MoU Between UAF And Engro Fertilizers

The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) and Engro Fertilizers Limited inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of an “Integrated E-learning system for Agricultural Technology Transfer by Using Hybrid Approach” – a project being funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC) through its Technology Development Fund (TDF).

The MoU was duly signed by the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf and Engro Fertilizers Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Amir Iqbal. It was also agreed upon to conduct joint field trials to develop agronomic recommendations and to further use that information in developing informative literature and videos for the farmers. They would also jointly organize workshops, seminars, training and conferences to seek feedback from the stakeholders and for their capacity building and developing a broader understanding of the project interventions.

They would engage farmers in the field activities and for working on developing community centers in the villages in collaboration with the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, as per the project objectives of the Higher Education Commission’s Technology Development Fund.

HEC Technology Development Fund is provided in the following areas; Telecommunication, Information and Technology / Computers (applications in Govt. services, health, textile, agriculture & dairy etc.), Engineering Sciences, Micro Electronics, Water, Power, Energy and Fleet Management, Biotechnology and Allied fields (in Health, Agriculture, Textile, Leather & Dairy etc.), Material Sciences / Man Made Material (Nanotechnology), Robotics, Defense and Military needs, or any other applied discipline which is inductive or conducive to success of products developed or upscale the process of Industrial level manufacturing.

Baba Guru Nanak International University To Be Set Up In Nankana Sahib

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is planning to set up Baba Guru Nanak International University in Nankana Sahib in order to portray a “softer image” of Pakistan to the world. The university that will be set up in collaboration with Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) is estimated to cost Rs 1,000 million.
