UHE Inaugurates SDGs Wall

The wall of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was inaugurated at the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore. Provincial Minister & Spokesperson of the Punjab government Attaullah Tarar and Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen attended the inaugural ceremony.  SDG’s wall has been installed with the support of the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO).

While addressing the ceremony Attaullah Tarar was of the view that health, education, a safe & secure environment, and making friendly workplaces without gender discrimination are essential to achieving SDGs. He informed the students that Pakistan is one of those countries that adopted SDGs and that SDGs should be incorporated into the curriculum. He also urged that educational institutions are responsible to transmit skills of emerging technologies among the students. Attaullah Tarar said adopting SDGs will help to create awareness among students for social developments.

“We are actively engaged to provide a better educational environment where students are being encouraged to do research, innovate, and discover the knowledge economy of the country”, said Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen. She also said UHE initiated to engage our students and faculty for working in the research and advocacy of the SDGs with an aim to involve them in the development process of the country.

Syed Kausar Abbas, Executive Director SSDO, Bushra Butt (MPA), Registrar UHE Shujaat Mueef Qureshi, Director Academics, Director P&D, and a large number of students attended the event.
