Dozens of unemployed PhD holders fed up with joblessness have gathered outside Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Banigala residence to protest the government’s failure to provide them with proper jobs. The protest call was given by an association of PhD, aptly named PhD Doctors Association. The protesters are demanding a meeting with PM Imran Khan.
A division bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday took stern notice of the two-day strike called by private schools across the province and directed authorities to take administrative control and seal bank accounts of schools that participated in the strike.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a committee to probe allegations of unlawful tuition fee hike by some private school administrations.
The news will definitely be a relief for parents who have been trying to draw the authorities’ attention to their plight for long. The issue has resurfaced following an earlier similar disagreement over fee hike between the Punjab government and the joint body of private school administrations (APPSF) in the preceding years.
