A two-day symposium regarding research practices in Pakistani universities was held at VU, in which nine former and current vice-chancellors of different universities across Pakistan participated.
Virtual University’s (VU) Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Technology conducted a “One-day International Seminar on Mathematical Sciences” on Thursday at M.A Jinnah Campus, Lahore.
Two international and six national speakers from different universities presented their current research in the field of Mathematics. The objective of this International Seminar on Mathematical Sciences was to boost the academic and research skills of the Department’s faculty and students. The seminar provided the opportunity to the academicians of different universities to share their knowledge.
Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) Former VC Prof Dr Najma Najam was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Virtual University Rector Naeem Tariq also delivered his speech at the inaugural session. VU Director Quality Enhancement Dr Mohsin also expressed his views at the event.
Prof Dr John C. Butcher, from University of Auckland, New Zealand and Dr Volkmar Welker, from Phillips University, Germany, Dr Sarfraz, from COMSTAS University, Dr. Muhammad Usman, from LUMS, Dr. Imran Naeem, from LUMS, Dr Yosuf, from COMSATS University, Dr. Ali Asher, from LUMS and Dr Tabasam Rashid, from UMT, were the guest speakers at the seminar.
VU Head of Mathematics Department Dr Muhammad Arif delivered his concluding remarks at the end of the seminar. Rector Virtual University chaired the closing ceremony and awarded shields to speakers of the seminar.
