A team of Information Technology University, Lahore has won the 39th All Pakistan Allama Muhammad Iqbal Bilingual Declamation Contest, hosted by the Government College University Lahore Debating Society (GCUDS).

The Information Technology University (ITU) Lahore is set to have its own Computer Engineering (CE) Department, with Vice Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar saying the addition of this department would help the university cater to the needs of industry and academia. The decision to set up the ITU Computer Engineering department will add to the existing 11 degree programmes being currently offered by the university and was made at the 9th meeting of ITU Syndicate held on Saturday.
The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has been left between a rock and a hard place with regards to appointment of vice chancellor at Information Technology University (ITU) Lahore after only five candidates applied for the position.
