Minister Planning Ahsan Iqbal visits NCAI at NUST

Federal Minister Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Mr Ahsan Iqbal visited the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) at the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) Islamabad Campus. Lt Gen (R) Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari, the rector of the university, received the minister. Pro-Rector Research, Innovation & Commercialization, Air Vice Marshal (R) Dr Rizwan Riaz, and Chairman Higher Commission (HEC), Dr Tariq Javed Banuri were also present.

While speaking on occasion, Ahsan Iqbal expressed a strong resolve to expedite all projects in the science, technology, and engineering sectors.

The federal minister further said that the government plans to focus on providing access to young scientists and engineers with the international state-of-the-art education and skills in order for them to become a production house for the international IT and science industry.

He emphasized the importance of Artificial Intelligence for modern Knowledge-based Economies and encouraged youth to take up research and education in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

Professor Dr Yasar Ayaz, Director, NACI gave a detailed briefing to the minister about the initiatives taken by the center. NCAI provides technical training to students in different areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotics, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing & Search Engine Optimization (SEO). NCAI was inaugurated in the year 2018 by Mr Iqbal as then Minister for Interior and Planning, Development & Reforms.
