UHE Syndicate approves a budget of Rs One billion

The Syndicate of the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore approved an annual budget of Rs 1.02 billion in its 10th meeting.

The meeting of the Syndicate was held under the chairmanship of the Minister for Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfaraz in the Syndicate Room. The Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Kanwal Amin, Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Dr Shahid Munir, Vice Chancellor UE Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Member Syndicate Dr Khalid Hameed Sheikh, Vice Chancellor GCWUS Dr Rukhsana Kausar, MPA Neelam Hayat, Professor Dr Ghazala Irfan, Additional Secretary Higher Education Shahid Lak attended the meeting.

UHE allocated Rs. 25 million for development projects, 100 million rupees for IT infrastructure, 2.1 million rupees for scholarship and research, and 27 million rupees for the welfare of teachers and employees.

The Syndicate also approved the 15% ad hoc allowance for teachers & staff, special conveyance allowance for disabled students, approval of up to 50% discount on tuition fees for 30 deserving students each semester, pension rules of the Govt. of Punjab, and a new fee structure has been approved.

The Syndicate has approved the appointment of new Lecturers, Assistant Professors, and Student Counselors on the recommendations of the Selection Board. The Syndicate meeting has approved admission in BS Applied Psychology, Information Management, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Public Health and Nutrition, Food Science and Technology degrees.

The Syndicate has approved the policy for appointments of in-service teachers and staff on BPS for the posts of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors with the amendments in HEC TTS statutes. The Syndicate has also approved the adoption of the Medical Rules of the Punjab Government.

Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen also presented the performance report for two years from 2019 to 2021, which was appreciated by Minister Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun and syndics. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Law Department and Finance Department.
