Vice-Chancellor UET Lahore Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Deans of all faculties, Chairmen, faculty members and a large number of students attended the seminar. Additional Director NAB Asif Raza and Deputy Director NAB Muhammad Sajid gave a briefing on the anti-corruption campaign and performance of NAB.
According to Additional Director Asif Raza, since its establishment, NAB has recovered 938.175 billion rupees, while the punishment ratio for people involved in corruption is 66%. Deputy Director NAB Muhammad Sajid said that NAB is running a big campaign on awareness against corruption in the nation. This seminar on prevention of Increase in corruption was held at the Transportation Seminar Hall. A walk was also organized at the end of the seminar.
While addressing the students, the speakers told that NAB can’t alone fight corruption by itself unless the Bureau gets active assistance and moral acceptability from other sections of society, especially from the new generation. The joint venture of NAB and Provincial Education Department held competitions on eve of upcoming International Anti-Corruption Day (9th Dec) in Punjab’s 21 Districts. The winning students of competitions were announced and awarded with the merit Certificates in admiration of their efforts. NAB’s motive behind such activities is linked to raise well aware generations against corruption and its effects.
During the walk, the students were carrying awareness banners to end corruption. Vice-Chancellor UET Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar thanked the National Accountability Bureau for organizing the seminar and walk for awareness against corruption.
