HCC of Punjab University & PJiF sign MoU

Embassy of Japan’s Counselor Mr Ryuji Lwasaki-san has said that they were celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations with Pakistan which was proof of long-standing friendship. He expressed these views at the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Punjab University Hailey College of Commerce (HCC) and the Pakistan-Japan Intellect Forum (PJiF) for the promotion of the Japanese language and culture.

On this occasion at Punjab University, Associate Professor Hailey College of Commerce Dr Zafar Ahmed, Vice President PJiF Sitara Arif, faculty members and students were present.

Pakistan Japan Intellect Forum is a literary society and an intellectual forum operating for the last 20 years. It has been organizing various cultural and educational programs in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan, Karachi.

In this address, Japanese Counselor Mr Ryuji Lwasaki-san said that despite the limited resources, Pakistanis have always extended the best hospitality to foreigners which was a unique ability. He said that the agreement for the promotion of the Japanese language and culture in Pakistan would further strengthen the ties. In his address, Dr Zafar highlighted the history and ongoing activities at Hailey College of Commerce.

Later, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the parties.

IBA & Sumitomo ink an MoU to facilitate meritorious students

The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi and the Sumitomo Corporation signed an MoU to financially support aspirational students in their academic journey. Executive Director, IBA Karachi, Dr S Akbar Zaidi and General Manager, Pakistan Office, Sumitomo Corporation Asia & Oceania Pte Ltd, Mr Kazuteru Mihara on behalf of Sumitomo Corporation signed the MoU.

Participants included Mr. Shahzad Ali, Assistant General Manager, Sumitomo Corporation Asia & Oceania Pte Ltd and Ms. Malahat Awan, Director, Alumni Communications and Resource Mobilization (ARC), Institute of Business Administration. The objective of this agreement is to nurture and foster the education of capable young leaders attending the Institute, who shall be entrusted with the future of Pakistan. The corporation will support 3 MBA students each year. The selected students will receive individual grants to cover their tuition fees.

Sumitomo Corporation is one of the largest global general trading companies, working towards making education accessible for deserving and ambitious students. Whereas IBA is trying to impart quality education in numerous educational fields to students selected on merit irrespective of ethnicity, gender, religion, or financial means. This agreement will create opportunities for local students to attain the financial support needed to pursue their educational goals.

University of Education and Selcuk University Sign MoU

 The University of Education (UE) Lahore and Selcuk University, Turkey have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between both institutions.

With a mission to raise competent and virtuous individuals for the future with an enterprising and innovative approach and to do sustainable progress-oriented research, Selcuk University is one of the biggest universities in Turkey with its 23 faculties, 7 institutes, 5 higher schools, 1 conservatory, 22 vocational higher schools, 54 research and application centers.

According to the MoU, areas of cooperation will include exchange of faculty members for lectures and short-term visits, student exchange and post-doctoral fellows in the field of sciences, as well as invitations to scholars for participation in various conferences in the universities through video conferences and symposia. Students and staff will also have access to the publications.

The University of Education and Selcuk University have also planned joint exploration of national and international funding opportunities to accomplish the aims of cooperative agreements between the two institutions.

Vice Chancellor of University of Education Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha signed the MoU on behalf of the University of Education, while Selcuk University Rector Professor Dr Mustafa SAHIN signed the MoU on the behalf of the Turkish university.

SABAQ, LUMS Sign MoU To Improve Pakistan’s Education Ecosystem

Award-winning EdTech enterprise SABAQ, and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate for research and outreach purposes in order to contribute towards building a robust education ecosystem in Pakistan.
