SAU sets up free veterinary camp in flood affected areas

Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) has set up a ‘Medical Camp for Animals’ to treat cattle in flood-affected areas. The varsity offers free-of-cost treatment as the Livestock Animal Husbandry Wing Department has provided medicines to the doctors.

After the instructions of Dr Fateh Muhammad Marri, Vice Chancellor SAU, a team of veterinary experts led by Professor Dr Ahmed Nawaz Tunio, Chairman of the Department of Surgery, have set up a temporary medical camp in front of AH&VS faculty, near Hyderabad-Mirpur Khas Road, where animals affected by the flood are being treated. “Hundreds of animals have been diagnosed and treated so far,” the Director of the Livestock Animal Husbandry Wing said.

Dr Ahmad Nawaz Tunio said; “we are diagnosing and treating the animals of the affected farmers and villagers who have migrated from flood-affected areas including rural areas of Hyderabad taluka”

Dr Tunio added that pneumonia and skin diseases have been found in animals. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr Fateh Marri said; “we are helping our brothers in this difficult time, and we have to deal with this problem together, while our experts provide their services to prevent possible diseases in animals, and so far, a large number of animals have been treated”.
