Kashmir Solidarity Day Observed At Lahore College

A National Seminar to commemorate the Kashmir Day was organized by Intermediate College,Lahore College for Women University on  Tuesday .

Mah Rukh Bukhari Principal Intermediate College, Lahore College for Women University  while speaking at the seminar discussed the concept of right to self-determination and explained the Kashmir struggle in the light of basic human right. She said despite numerous UN resolutions, the plebiscite never took place in the valley of Kashmir.

Uzma Kardar, Member Punjab Assembly and Kashmir Committee Punjab made special participation in the seminar. She threw light on significant part played by present Government to highlight  Kashmir issue on International Forum. She added that Kashmiris are our Muslim brothers and sisters. We want them wholeheartedly. Modi government’s RSS agenda has come before the world. All the world is watching. Thousands of lives have been sacrificed so for, A million signatory campaigns under the leadership of the Chief Minister have been launched in this regard.

Prof Dr Mahboob Hussain, Chairperson History and Pakistan Studies Department, Punjab University highlighted the problem of Kashmir and said that the geography of the nations who forget history does not take long to change so it is important that we know, When and for what reason the problem started. He said one of the important points in the history of Kashmir was to add the Red Cliff Line to Gurdaspur Punjab to India, which made its way to Kashmir for India.

Students delivered speeches on issues related to the Indian occupied Kashmir. A special documentary on Kashmir was also presented. Dr Amjad Abbas Magssi, Assistant Professor Pakistan Studies, Sadia sohail Rana Member Punjab Assembly ,Bushra Nadeem Director Student Affairs, Faliha Basit also participated in the seminar.

At the end of the seminar, Uzma Kardar, Coordinator Kashmir Committee Punjab awarded certificates to the position holders of a poster and painting competition on Kashmir held earlier in the month of January 2020. A rally was also arranged by the staff and students of Intermediate College LCWU which was led by  Sadia Sohail Rana Member Punjab Assembly.
