JSMU observes Solidarity Day for Kashmir

Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) Karachi observed the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Monday in which voice was raised for the right of self-determination of the oppressed Kashmiris, full support was shown to the freedom movement of Kashmir, and rich tributes were paid to the unparalleled spirit and courage of the Kashmiris.

In this regard, Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University Professor Amjad Siraj Memon said that the entire Muslim Ummah must raise their voices in unison against Indian brutality and serious violations of human rights in Occupied Kashmir.

India has failed to stop the freedom struggle of Kashmiris despite the use of all state resources and oppression, he said. He further said that the Indian government is bound to give self-determination to Kashmiris according to the United Nations Charter.

In the seminar, Students also presented speeches and songs related to the Kashmir freedom movement to express solidarity with Kashmiris, which were appreciated by the participants.

On this occasion, the registrar of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Dr Azam Khan, in his closing remarks of the Solidarity Day, said that the voice raised by the students of JSMU today in favour of the Kashmiri brothers and sisters echoes in Pakistan and it will also be heard in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Earlier, JSMU Student Council Chairperson Professor Kefi Iqbal urged the United Nations to immediately take note of the serious situation in Kashmir and stop India from human rights abuses. We request the entire world to restore the constitutional status of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and give them the right to self-determination, he added.
