IUB, DRAP sign MoU for drug regulations

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP).

The MoU was signed by Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob and Chief Executive Officer Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan (DRAP) Asim Rauf. Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Prof Dr Naveed Akhtar was also present on this occasion.

According to the agreement the Islamia University of Bahawalpur will provide more opportunities for improvement in Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan. Both institutions will carry out joint educational and research projects. Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur will cooperate with each other in clinical and scientific discussions, conferences and special steps will be taken to improve pharmaceutical regulatory services.

On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan Asim Rauf said that the signing of a memorandum of understanding with a historical educational institution like the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is very welcome and it will improve the teaching, research and regulatory services between the two institutions. He said that the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan is the protector of the health of 22 crore people and especially during the Covid-19 epidemic, it served the country and the nation on a large scale in the provision of the Covid-19 vaccine and other matters.

Vice-Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob appreciated the national services of Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan and said that the graduates of Islamia University Bahawalpur are serving in Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan and the memorandum of understanding between the two institutions for teaching and research is highly appreciated.
