Independence Day Celebrations begin at SAU

Independence Day Celebrations begin at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) with the Monsoon Tree plantation campaign, academic and administrative heads including the vice chancellor planted saplings in front of the University administrative block.

According to the university spokesman, the Independence Day celebrations have begun at Sindh Agriculture University, Tondojam, in accordance with the monsoon season, the Vice-Chancellor and other professors and officers planted saplings in the administrative block, addressing a simple function organized on the occasion. Vice-Chancellor Dr Fateh Muhammad Marri said that the world is facing problems due to global warming and climate change, due to increasing population, lack of trees and forests and increasing pollution.

Dr Marri said that according to international standards, there should be forests on 7 percent of the land area, but unfortunately, only two percent of the land area is forested in our country. Therefore, every person must have at least two trees and two trees per acre of land.

On this occasion, Director University Advancement and Financial Assistance Dr Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar briefed the Vice Chancellor regarding tree planting campaign and other activities of Independence Day.

On this occasion, Deans Dr Aijaz Ali Khooharo, Dr Syed Ghiyasuddin Shah Rashidi, Dr Manzoor Ali Abro, Advisor to Vice Chancellor Dr Syed Ziaul Hassan Shah, Dr Zahoor Soomro, Dr Mujahid Leghari, Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi, Director Quality Enhancement Cell Engineer Riasat Ali Kubar, Muhammad Mithal Lund, Ghulam Hyder Joyo, Manzoor Ali Lakhair, Mumtaz Ali Jakhro, Manzoor Ali Magsi, Director of various departments, Chairman of Departments, teachers and officers planted saplings.
