ACE Punjab joins hands with UMT to Fight Corruption

Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab joined hands with the University of Management and Technology (UMT) to raise awareness about the ill effects of corruption on society and find ways to create a corruption-free Pakistan in connection with International Anti-Corruption Day.

Chief Guest Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Chief Minister of Punjab, Adviser to CM Punjab Brig (R) Musaddiq Abbasi, Hasnain Khalid Sanpal, DG ACE Punjab, Nadeem Sarwar Khokhar, Director ACE, Malik Rashid Nemat Khokhar, Deputy Director, Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab, Rai Khalid, PSO to Deputy Director, ACE Punjab, people from media and huge number of students from UMT participated in the event here at Alhamra Art Centre, Mall Raod, Lahore.

Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab Nadeem Sarwar Khokhar warmly welcomed the honorable CM Punjab Ch Pervaiz Elahi and participants of the event. He said that rule of law is important to eradicate corruption from society. DG said that the ACE department has come forward as a beacon of hope for nipping corruption in the bud. The violation of financial regulations and misuse of powers falls under the category of corruption; he added.

Addressing the ceremony CM Punjab Ch Pervaiz Elahi thanked the youth for being a part of this event. Ch Pervaiz Elahi appreciated the great effort of the educational institutes like UMT to become a part of Government’s efforts to eradicate corruption from the society. He said that such academia-government linkages are necessary in other areas as well to make our youngsters aware of the contemporary challenges faced by Pakistan and help them play a constructive part to uplift the country. The whole nation has to play its part in eradicating corruption from every nook and corner of Pakistan, said CM Punjab.

A souvenir was also presented to CM Punjab Ch Pervaiz Elahi by DG Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab Nadeem Sarwar Khokhar at the end of ceremony.
